This week in writing we have been writing some expositions and sexy paragraphs for the fair go ad awards the topic this year is cheese. We had to use our imagination and invent a way that cheese can be used. My two ideas were a cheese swimming pool and a cheese securty device.

Yellow hat-  I think that in my writing that I have followed the sexy paragraph outline very well. This is important  we have to follow the SEXY outline because then it makes it more interresting to read and it creates a picture in the readers mind.

Black Hat- I think that next time we write sexy paragraphs I think that I will put a little more detail in the SEXY outline. I will do this by extending my paragraphs by adding more about the topic.

This week for my work of the week I have picked my reading  contract part 1 I think I have done this well because I have put everything into my own words instead of copy and paste.

Yellow Hat- I think that I have done well in explaining what I have written and I have put it all into my own words.

Black Hat- I think that next time when we do reading contract that I will spread it out in the time we have been given instead of rushing it all in the last couple of days. 

This week in room1 we have been learning about sexy paragraphs and how to write them. This is what they stand for.

• S – state your idea
• E – explain your statement or idea a little more
• X – provide an Xample
• Y – Why is this statement or idea important – why have you included it?

Yellow Hat- I think I have done this well because I can identify all the letters in my writing.

Black Hat-I think next time I think that I will explain what I am writing about  little more.

This week for my work of the week I have picked my maths. In maths green group has been working on adding and subtracting fractions.

Yellow Hat- I think that in my maths I have worked out my problems really well and explained them so I can understand what I am working on.

Black Hat- Next time when we are working on this I think that I will double check my work so I do not have any mistakes

This week for my work of the week I have chosen my formal vs informal. The reason I have picked this is because for our formal vs informal we had to write paragraph on the same thing. But with our paragraphs we had to write one in formal language and one in informal.

Yellow Hat- I think that in my writing I have done my formal and informal langauge well because….. I under lined all of my differences between my formal and informal language.

Black Hat- Next time I think that I could add more to my paragraph and use a bit more informal and formal language to set the scene.

This is my WOW for week one of the third term, I have choose this because, in planning for writing we have been trying to use bullet points instead of writing full sentences and ending up writing your whole story in your planning.

Yellow Hat- I think that I have done my bullet points well. The reason I think this is good because I have not writen full sentenses and put them into bullet points.

Black Hat-  Next time I will improve by adding more bullet points so I have more infomation, and so I know what I am writing about and so I dont need to add more stuff that is not in my planning.

Writing-In writing my focus in writing is to use bullet points in my planing.

Yellow hat – I think that I have used bullet points for my palnning so that I have just written down the key ideas.

On Thursday Matapu School went to Kaponga athletics and we all done very well but one of the people I was proud of was my little brother Cody he ended up getting a 1st in his 100 meters. We had alot of crying because one of our best runers Josh was running in the 100meter relay that he ended up getting the speed wobbles and fell over. But he came trough for us in the end and helped us get second in the 400meter relay.

This week for my work of the week I picked my kia kaha (bulling) writing I think done well cause I stuck to the expectations of what was set.

We had a list of things we could write about. I picked what it felt like being bulling.

The first day of a new school is never easy but this is no how I planed it.

8:30am- As I arrived at the main gate everyone was looking,stairing,giggling and wispering who nos what into there friends ears.As I walk trough the main door it was like walking into a world of unknown faces.

9:00am-The loud ringing noise of the bell ecohs trough the walls,followed by the scambling of peoples feet trying to get to class. I start to head for class when a huge guy steps in front of me. And thats when I start to think “Gosh he looks about 200kg” He pushed me around and pinned me up against a locker.
